Combining humidity resistance, thermal protection and lightweight styling benefits in a single aerosol format.
August 3, 2026
By: Christine Esposito
A three-day weekend is always welcome; three-days without frizz perhaps more so.
Paul Mitchell has launched new spray to deliver “keratin-like” smoothness that it says lasts that long (72 hours). Aptly named 3-Day No Frizz Spray, the new fragrance-free aerosol works on damp or dry hair, and it delivers up to 450°F of thermal protection. The result: hair with glass-like shine and sleek, silky results even in high humidity, which is the enemy of sleek locks.
Humidity is a primary cause of frizz because hair naturally absorbs moisture from the air. As water enters the hair fiber, it causes the cuticle to lift, creating a rougher surface that appears frizzy.
“The key to long-lasting frizz control is creating a lightweight barrier that helps limit moisture absorption while keeping the hair smooth and touchable, which is the approach used in 3 Day No Frizz,” said Bri Stanton, John Paul Mitchell Systems (JPMS) product development.
The new Paul Mitchell formula includes a lightweight film-forming polymer that creates an invisible humidity-resistant shield around the hair to help control frizz and flyaways without stiffness. A specialized silicone blend helps provide thermal protection during blow-drying and heat styling while contributing to a smooth, polished finish, according to Stanton.
the JPMS team pointed to the conditioning agents and silicones in the formula that create a more uniform surface, which helps improve light reflection for shine.
Users can air dry after spraying on damp hair for frizz control and manageability. For maximum frizz reduction, JPMS directs them to blow-dry and follow with a flat iron. The vegan formula can also be used on dry hair for light frizz control and shine.
“Paul Mitchell has a long history of addressing real-world styling challenges through purposeful formulation and performance-driven innovation,” said Stanton. “With 3 Day No Frizz, the team focused on combining humidity resistance, thermal protection, and lightweight styling benefits in a single aerosol format. The result is a solution designed to deliver extended frizz control while maintaining the flexibility, shine, and touchability professionals and consumers expect from modern hair care products.”
